Profile

	JoAnne Chalom is a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early Childhood through Young Adult/ Exceptional Needs Specialist. She has spent 18 years working with children at all levels of education, including learning disabled, gifted and talented, special needs and non-traditional students. Ms. Chalom has worked with exceptional education students and created individualized instructional curriculums. She has obtained certification in the following areas:
	Gifted
	Learning Disabilities
	Mentally Handicapped
	Visually Impaired
	ESOL

	JoAnne graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exceptional Education before earning a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Exceptional Education from Nova Southeastern University and Educational Specialist in Computer Applications in Education from Barry University. She has additional certifications from the Research Institute for Assistive and Training Technology (RIATT) at the National Association of State Directors of Special Education as well as being an Assistive Technology Contact for a school in South Florida.
	Ms. Chalom has been a presenter at the Southeastern Orientation and Mobility Association annual conference.
	JoAnne is a Florida Supreme Court certified County Court Mediator.
	Ms. Chalom is the author of several articles concerning topics related to extra special kids. She has also had articles published in Today's Parent and Our Town News.
	JoAnne is the 2006-2007 recipient of the Broward County Chapter National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Spirit Award in memory of Madelyn Weil.
